The Air District is aware of an odor in the Point Richmond and North Richmond areas. Air District inspectors are investigating and responding to complaints. Staff are in communication with Contra Costa Health to determine the cause and identify corrective actions. Follow instructions from local health officials.

The Air District regulates pollutant emissions from soil contaminated by organic or petroleum chemical leaks or spills, and from underground storage tanks when they are removed or replaced.
If you are removing underground storage tanks or excavating contaminated soil, complete and submit the Tank Removal or Soil Excavation Notification Form(711 Kb PDF, 2 pgs, posted 10/10/2024) prior to beginning work.
