Any owner or operator of dry cleaning equipment that is exempt from Regulation 2, Rule 1, Sections 301 and 302 (obtaining an Authority to Construct/Permit to Operate) must register each dry cleaning machine (see Regulation 8, Rule 17, Section 404 and Regulation 2, Rule 1, Section 120).
Dry Cleaning equipment that meets the following criteria is exempt from obtaining a Permit to Operate:
You are required to keep your registration current as long as you operate your equipment subject to the regulation.
Online Permitting System
Eligible facilities can log in to apply for new registrations and renewals on the Air District's online permitting system web page.
The registration fees are set forth in Regulation 3, Schedule R. Both initial registration fee and annual fee are for each dry-cleaning machine. Late registrations and late payment penalties may apply.
Depending on the permit or registration expiration date for your facility, you will receive renewal notices accordingly on an annual basis. Renewal invoices are typically sent out 30 to 60 days before expiration.
