Smoke from wildfires in the western U.S. and Canada is expected to impact air quality in the Bay Area on Thursday and Friday. Residents in affected areas should stay alert to news coverage and health warnings related to smoke. Check air quality at fire.airnow.gov and take steps to protect your health from smoke. Learn how at www.baaqmd.gov/wildfiresafety. Pollution levels are not expected to exceed the national 24-hour health standard. A Spare the Air Alert is not in effect.

Get paid to exchange your working gas-powered lawn mower for a new electric mower.
This program is closed and applications are no longer being accepted. If you are interested in future lawn and garden exchange programs, we encourage you to sign up to receive email notifications if and when additional funding becomes available.
The Lawn Mower Exchange Program will pay residents to turn in their working gasoline lawn mowers for scrapping. In exchange, residents will receive funds toward the purchase of a new, cordless, zero-emission electric lawn mower.
To participate, you must be a resident of the Bay Area and have a working gas-powered lawn mower.
Applications are not being accepted at this time.
