Learn about grants for the purchase and lease of zero-emissions heavy-duty vehicles operating in the nine-county Bay Area.

This program is designed to help fleet operators achieve voluntary emission reductions through encouraging the deployment of zero-emission technologies when replacing older, compliant vehicles, and when expanding their fleet.

The program will provide funding to reimburse a percentage of the difference in cost between a zero-emission vehicle and a conventionally fueled vehicle. Awards are made on a first-come, first-served basis, and the funding amounts will be determined using the most recent ARB calculation methodology for cost-effectiveness and emissions reductions.
Up to $5 million is available for fiscal year ending (FYE) 2016.
Both public and non-public entities are eligible to apply for funds. Proposed projects must operate a majority of their time within the Air District’s jurisdiction.

The Air District will accept applications through June 22, 2016, or unless program funds are exhausted earlier.
Air District staff will conduct pre-application webinars to review the program requirements, the application process, and the application evaluation criteria. Registration is required to participate in the webinars, and early registration is encouraged as the webinars are limited to 100 attendees. Webinar attendance is highly encouraged but not required.
