The Air District offers a free widget that you can add to your website. The Spare the Air Alert Status widget shows whether a Spare the Air Alert is in effect.
Widgets are mini-applications that can be added to a web page (but can’t be added to your computer’s desktop). We provide a small paragraph of code that you add to your website.
Place the Spare the Air Alert Status widget on your website. The widget shows "Spare the Air" Alert status for the current day. The widget also connects you to the Spare the Air website.
Summer Season: The widget shows whether the Air District has called a “Spare the Air Alert” predicting unhealthy air quality due to ozone pollution in the Bay Area. A Spare the Air Alert asks you to make an extra effort to keep the air clean on that day.
Winter Season: The widget shows whether wood burning is allowed. When a “Winter Spare the Air Alert” is called due to fine particle pollution, it is illegal to use fireplaces, wood stoves, pellet stoves, or other wood-burning devices in the Bay Area.
