The Air District is pleased to announce the availability of grant funding to help fleet and equipment owners upgrade and replace eligible heavy-duty vehicles and equipment with cleaner and zero-emissions technology. Funding is also available to install electric charging stations and hydrogen stations that will be used to refuel Air District funded equipment and vehicles.
Applications are being accepted to upgrade the following types of equipment:
- School and transit buses
- Off-road equipment, including airport ground support, construction, cargo handling equipment, forklifts with a lift capacity of 8,000 lbs. or less, TRUs, and portable & stationary engines
- Agricultural equipment
- Marine vessels
- Locomotives
Funding is limited to projects operating within Air District communities most impacted by air pollution, except for agricultural projects and zero- or near zero-emission locomotive projects that are owned and operated by public agencies, which may operate anywhere within the Air District’s jurisdiction.
