Air Quality Fact

We have a lot to celebrate. Bay Area air is substantially cleaner than it was fifty years ago. 2004 was our cleanest year on record. We met federal standards for ground level ozone every day, and today, the Bay Area has the cleanest air of all of California ’s major urban areas.

Wood Burning Status

The 2009-10 Winter Spare the Air season ended on February 28. There is currently no wood burning ban in place.

The Bay Area burn status will be updated daily during the 2010-11 Winter Spare the Air season beginning November 1.

Title V Compliance Certifications

All Title V permits require an annual (or more frequent) Certification of Compliance. At the appropriate time, the District will mail a custom-made Certification of Compliance form to each facility that has been issued a Title V permit. After receipt, the facility must complete and sign the Certification of Compliance. The completed and signed form should be sent to:
